Seal Films are a professional video production company brought to life by the creative talents of David Barrow, Nicholas Farrimond and Sean Lovell. The team are all extremely skilled camera operators and editors with an extensive showreel that illustrates the vast spectrum of their work as well as a renowned history of successful collaborations and a variety of freelance work for feature film directors and broadcasters alike. To consistently produce such a high quality of work, Seal Films constantly update their camera equipment and post-production suites and shoot in various formats such as DVCAM, HDV and XDCAM HD, all of which are standard requirements for broadcast television. Using Avid Media Composer in conjunction with compositing tools Combustion and After Effects, mean that projects can be created from a huge palette of FX and stylised attributes, then delivered in almost any format. In the past, Seal Films have been nominated for a Royal Television Society award and the company have also been honoured with a 'Business Venture' award for its rapid growth and regional success.

With over 40 short films and 2 feature length productions completed to date, Seal Films have developed a strong understanding of narrative structure and creative content. Through constantly experimenting and collaborating with new talent as well as professional artists, they have now perfected a powerful method of using the medium to achieve much more than simply storytelling. Over the years, Seal Films have worked with many organisations such as ‘Creative Arts Partnership’, ‘Connexions’, ‘Groundwork’, ‘KinoFilm’, ‘Millennium Volunteers’, youth theatres and many more. These partnerships have produced films which express strong social commentary in areas where such creative mediums are often forgotten about. Through these productions, Seal Films have evolved and found a real purpose for the short film format; each production is treated with powerful post-production tools including software used on high budget films such as ‘Lord of the Rings’ and ‘Spiderman’.

Animation can be incorporated in a variety of ways to enhance the quality or style of a production. This could include exciting/dynamic graphics, title sequences or stylised sections to a film project.

Music is vital to almost every production and although there is a good library of copyright free tracks available for use, these can be very limiting when trying to create a particular feel or theme for your project. We can arrange for original music to be composed to perfectly suit any production: the music featured in the background to this site and on our showreel are fantastic examples of what can be produced.

Capturing an event on film is perfect for re-living the atmosphere and remembering the event exactly as it happened. When covering an event, Seal Films concentrate on capturing the spirit, as well as detailed coverage of any stationery, costumes, vehicles, room design and general atmosphere. This footage is then lovingly crafted together in post-production, where the event is brought back to life complete with titles and FX. Seal Films are able to master to any format including fully authored and customised DVD's; we can also create personalised DVD sleeves using stills taken from the edit. This artwork can also be adapted for print directly on to the disc itself making the finished DVD perfect for marketing, sales or to raise money for charities or any other organisations.
